Romana now available on the Internet

Romana, the official journal of the prelature of Opus Dei, has launched a new website: www.romana.org.

The new web page is presented in three languages: English, Italian, and Spanish. The contents include, among other features, documents from the Holy See, news about the spread of St. Josemaría’s message, information about the activities of the prelate of the Opus Dei, and details about apostolic initiatives undertaken by the faithful of the Prelature of Opus Dei.

Romana comes out semi-annually, and published its 34th issue last year. The journal published its first issue in 1985 in Italian. A Spanish edition has been published since issue 22, and an English one since issue 24. The publication fulfills a desire of St. Josemaría, who chose the title, “Romana,” for the future journal in order to emphasize the universal, catholic character of Opus Dei’s pastoral mission.

The English edition of the website can be reached by clicking the "english" link at the upper right hand of the page www.romana.org (which is in Italian), or reached directly at en.romana.org .

At the moment, the site presents the contents of issue 34. The contents of previous issues will be gradually incorporated into the archives.

Issue 34 of the journal offers, among other things: data on editions of books of St. Josemaría; information about congresses celebrated in different countries for the centennial of the new saint’s birth; an account of the Prelate’s pastoral trip to Jerusalem; stories about a work camp in Australia, a conference series in Chicago on character education for children, a symposium for priests in Holland, and an exposition in Singapore on the message and writings of St. Josemaría; and a theological reflection on the ecclesiological relevance of St. Josemaría’s oft-quoted phrase “priestly soul and lay mentality.”
